Ocean Universal in Cairns carries a solid spearfishing inventory. Makes sense — the shop started as Spearfishing Superstore, so that side of things has always been the core.
The range includes rail spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits, carbon and fibreglass fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and spearfishing accessories. Gear is suited to tropical waters — not southern stuff that doesn't suit FNQ.
The name changed to Ocean Universal because the business had already branched into scuba and freediving gear over the years. But the spearfishing range hasn't been reduced. It's still central to what they do.
The crew are local spearos and recommended site know what works on the local reefs.
